Job Duties

• Participate in supervised maintenance, servicing, inspections, and preventive maintenance. • Develop proficiency in using technical manuals and maintenance procedures. • Assist with identifying and documenting discrepancies. • Learn proper completion of maintenance records and technical documentation. • Use and care for maintenance tools and support equipment safely. • Follow company safety procedures and use required PPE. • Maintain a clean, organized work area. • Support line and hangar maintenance activities. • Participate in operational maintenance activities at designated company locations as required. • Demonstrate skills through supervised practical application and assessment. • Work performed in hangar, ramp, shop, and operational airport settings. • Exposure to noise, chemicals, fuels, oils, and varying weather conditions. • Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, and accessing aircraft. • Use of personal protective equipment is required. • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. • May require irregular hours and travel to other company locations as dictated by training needs.

Licenses and Certifications

This opportunity is available exclusively to eligible transitioning service members participating in the DoD SkillBridge Program. Participants remain on military pay and benefits. No wages or company benefits are provided during the approved SkillBridge period. Completion of the SkillBridge program does not guarantee employment. Employment in a certificated A&P mechanic position requires the appropriate FAA certification.

Responsibilities

This role provides eligible transitioning service members with supervised, hands-on civilian aircraft maintenance training alongside qualified personnel. Training focuses on building practical skills in aircraft systems, inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and safety compliance in a civilian environment. This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to all applicable regulatory, safety, drug and alcohol testing and background screening requirements.

Requirements and Experience

• Military aircraft maintenance experience relevant to pursuing FAA A&P certification. • Interest in pursuing civilian A&P certification and maintenance careers. • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively in team environments. • Effective communication and organizational skills. • Commitment to safety and compliance standards.
